Augustinus Bader hair oil, a leave-in for dry, dull hair
A few drops of oil, worked through the mid-lengths and ends of clean, dry or towel-dried hair and left in. Its maker names it for dry, dull hair prone to breakage and split ends, as leave-in nourishment or a styling finish.
It comes last in the hair routine, which opens with the cream shampoo that starts this routine.
In between go the conditioner and scalp treatment in the same line.
What Augustinus Bader says it does
- Lasting nourishment and protection for healthier-looking hair
- Helps reduce breakage and split ends
- Combats visible signs of damage from heat, styling and environmental aggressors
- Intensely hydrates and restores dull, tired strands, boosting shine and softness
- Improves elasticity and enhances hair's natural texture
- Detangles, smooths and controls frizz
TFC8 is described as supporting cell communication for continuous, visible renewal. Argan oil supports natural hair growth and guards against visible damage. Castor seed oil helps hydrate and reduce the risk of breakage. Baobab oil strengthens and smooths dry, brittle strands. Vitamin E helps retain moisture and protect against damage. Pomegranate oil, sunflower seed oil and squalane round out the formula.
In its 12-week study of 35 women and men with all hair types:
- Hair smoothness rose by 278% and hydration by 87%
- Frizz fell by 53%
- Broken and damaged hair from brushing fell by 93%
- Hair strength rose by 129% and strand thickness by 126%
- Hair count rose by 15%
In a consumer perception study of 105 women and men, 94% said it made hair more manageable, 93% said it prolonged their hairstyle, and 90% said it repairs split ends.
