About This Product

Where Valmont V-Firm Eye Fits Your Routine

Valmont V-Firm Eye is the 15 ml eye contour step in Valmont's V-Firm range, aimed at heavy eyelids and crepey under-eye skin. Valmont's own routine for the range runs V-Firm Serum first, V-Firm Eye second, V-Firm Cream last, and its serum directions say to keep the serum off the eye contour, so the eye contour is the part of the routine this gel covers. It sits with the eye and neck end of the firming range.

Valmont's directions: mornings and evenings, or either, apply half a pump to the eye contour with delicate taps of the fingertips, after V-Firm Serum for face and neck. It goes on before V-Firm Cream when you use the full range.

What Valmont Says It Does

The texture is what Valmont calls a melting honey-gel. Valmont lists three actions for it:

  • Reinforces elasticity
  • Strengthens the skin's structures
  • Lifts the eyelid

Valmont reports an elasticity increase of 17.8 percent over three months, measured on 22 women of average age 54 who applied V-Firm Eye twice daily for 84 consecutive days. That is Valmont's own test on its own product, not an independent trial.

What Is In It

Valmont names three parts of the formula. A Density Complex built on vitamin C, the amino acids lysine and proline, a glucosamine derivative, Immortelle flower extract and copper. High molecular weight hyaluronic acid, which Valmont describes as forming a tensing and lifting film. And a peptide cocktail Valmont labels its anti-wrinkle booster. The ingredient list carries ascorbyl glucoside, acetyl tetrapeptide-5, palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7, palmitoyl tripeptide-1, sodium hyaluronate and helichrysum stoechas extract.

Who It Suits

Valmont puts this at all ages and skin types, and points it in particular at eye contours prone to dryness, droopy eyelids with loose skin, sunken eyes and crepey under-eye skin. One thing worth knowing before you commit: Valmont describes the whole V-Firm range as highly concentrated in vitamin C and says anyone sensitive to vitamin C can adjust their routine around it. The gel also sits in our skin barrier repair shelf, since hydration is part of what Valmont built it to do.

Questions About V-Firm Eye

How much do I use?
Half a pump for the whole eye contour, per Valmont's directions.

Can I use it with the V-Firm Serum?
Yes, and Valmont's routine sequence puts the serum first. Valmont's serum directions cover the face and neck and tell you to avoid the eye contour, so the two do not overlap.

Morning or evening?
Valmont's directions allow mornings and evenings, or just one of the two.

Is it a gel or a cream?
Valmont describes the texture as a melting honey-gel, not a cream. The V-Firm cream in the range is a separate face product.
